4. What I don't like (The Cons)
Not an effective exit strategy. Not letting winners run
Dean Saunders recommends you to take profits based on 2x of your stoploss. That means you take profit at 100 pips if you are risking 50 pips.
While it is a good risk-reward ratio trading system, you will miss a lot of pips if the currency is trending. In fact, you could miss out thousands of pips. No joke.
Setups for daily breakouts do not come often and when they do , we better suck the pips out of them dry!!!
Therefore, you need to modify the exit plan to trail your profits and let your winner run. You should let your trades breakeven fast though. Never let a winner turn into a loss.
I have used similar strategies and the rewards are tremendously high using a daily chart. I have reached gains as high as 7x which is around 700 pips gain for each 100 pips risk ratio.
I would recommend you to take Hector Traders course and pick up his trend-scanning indicator. It will help you to determine if the currency is still trending. And if it is still trending, you do not exit! You let your stoploss take you out.
