Update 18 Aug '09

Ivybot is starting to take up more trades with the recent update. So far 90% of the winners are from USDJPY and 2-3 from EURJPY. From my observation this robot is scoring an average 1-2 losses out of 10 wins.

I am currently picking up many active discussion and reviews on this forex robot. As usual, I have inserted out those constructive comments below:

Update 5 Aug '09

Ivybot has been launched into the market for 1 week now and reviews and opinions are starting to circulate around the net.

However, there are only minimum trades opened (Max 1-2 trades for the past 3 days). So whatever reviews you are hearing is on the initial impression and probably some unexpected technical issues.

New forex robots are often prompt to many issues, I will normally give the vendors at least 1 month to sort all those out.

Considering the ten of thousands marketing emails sent, I would expect an overloaded demand on the customer support.

As of now I will be only listing constructive opinions that you should know. It is also fairer to judge the forex robot on the profits as making money is ultimately what we want.

so far I had 5 trades on USDJPY with agressive settings and 4 of them are winner trades. Started with a 5000 demo account and now it is at $6200.

It appears that Ivybot has finally come good. Here are my trades over the last few days. These are all trades from live accounts. I am using the scalper settings. For some inexplicable reason, my demo account has more trades, but most of them losing, although the last one made enough profit to get me back to nearly my original account balance.

14 Aug USDJPY sell 55 pip profit, USDJPY sell 80 pip profit, USDJPY sell 9 pip profit
16 Aug USDJPY sell 12 pip profit
17 Aug USDJPY sell 12 pip profit, USDJPY sell 2 pip profit
I currently have an open trade, USDJPY sell, which is sitting on about an 80 pip profit.

Note that that I cost myself some profits by using a stop loss on 17 Aug. If I had let Ivybot manage the trade, these two would have been sitting on about 30 pips profit.

Customer Support advised me that an update is coming out in a couple of weeks which should generate more trades than the current version and will also be able to be used with 5 digit brokers.
After its rocky start, Ivybot has now become my most profitable system and this is after just over 2 weeks. Still too soon to say how good this robot is, but it is looking good at the moment.

The DrawDowns in backtest give up to 300 losses in some few trades. Let`s hope not in the near future.

First trade yesterday 2009.08.13 17:47 (10:54am EST) BUY 0.10 USDJPY price 95.61 S/L 0.00 T/P 96.43 (82 pips over Buy price) CLOSED 2009.08.14 06:27 (11:27 pm EST) 95.13 LOSS -50.46

This trade was open 12 1/2 hrs under the buy price before Ivy closed it.

I have no open trades, I am on default settings, Metatrader demo acct. thankfully. BTW thanks to all for posting, I found this site just as I was ready to fund live acct. and then decided to stay on demo.

I do not understand the wildly fluctuating trades from one acct to the next in the same time frame all on Ivy. Some Bought, Some Sold, some made little profit, some made big profit, and I lose money. Some have one trade, some have multiple trades. All on the same pairs. What is happening?

It seems to be working better with Fixed Spreads.

I am using ForexMeta FXDD and I didn`t have 842 profit.

My last trade USDJPY sell 0.10 @ 95.45 closed at 94.91 for $56.90 profit.

The trade was close seconds before the announcement, which is good, it could have moved up. It went down, but nobody could know that.

I got IvyBot straight after it was released and since then it has only traded twice with one Liteforex (live account), 4 times with BasicFX(demo) and once with Forex.com. Results are as follows:

Liteforex: Buy trade USDJPY, profit of 21 pips. Buy trade USDJPY, still open, currently 8 pip profit.

BasicFX: Buy trade USDJPY, 50 pip loss. Buy trade USDJPY, 23 pip loss. Sell trade USDCHF, 10 pip profit. Buy trade USDJPY, still open, currently at 3 pip profit.

Forex.com: Buy trade USDJPY, still open, currently at 4 pip profit.

Not sure why there are more trades with BasicFX, but it could be because it is a demo account. It may also depend upon the GMT offset as all three brokers are different. Fortunately, the live accounts are doing better than the demo. No idea how it determines when to close trades as all have been closed before the tp. It also runs without a sl, so you have no idea when it will cut your losses, although you do have the option to add your own if you so desire.

It hasn't traded much, but you can change the settings so that it will scalp trade. I am leaving mine on the default until I get a better idea how it performs. Customer support is pretty good as they answer your questions within a day or two. Remains to be seen if they actually modify the ea to suit market conditions. Not so sure that it is living up to its hype, but the results aren't too bad in the short term. Considering you are really getting 4 eas, I think it is good value for its price.

Don't think it is similar to Fapturbo ...more like Forex Megadroid..since it uses 1Hr timeframe and trades are minimum...

Guess they are trying to mimick megadroid high accuracy trading style...but sometimes you really get Zzzz..

I bought Ivybot yesterday with my friend telling me how good it is ..Shall test out myself and report here...

Default settings, started with $936. Bought 0.1 USD/JPY lot at 95.48, sold at 95.79 (T/P was listed at 96.30) for a profit of 32.36. It's a start. Not sure if I should make a live account now or wait.

I have a $500 account on FXDD - Ivy bot did a trade last night on usd/jpy that ended up +33.40

This was after 2 days of no activity, like everyone else is reporting, using the 'default' settings

Ivybot apparently only trades 2-6 times per week, so I guess we'll have to be patient. I just had my second order open on USDJPY. First trade closed +19 pips on USDJPY. I'm using demo on some broker called FX Clearing.

1

Purchased Ivybot and set it up on all four pairs on a demo account using the defaults on my VPS. Here are concerns that I have opened a support ticket for:

1. Does the Ivybot have an internal hidden stoploss if the stoploss field is left set to the default zero or does it only use the hard take profit?

My first trade closed and answered this concern ... so if you were wondering the same thing, Ivybot does apparently has internal take profit besides the one set in the properties. Would be nice if the PDF covered this.

2. The recommended lot size for an account over $2250 is 1 full lot on each pair. This should be divided between how many currency pairs you are running the bot on, but is not explained like that in the PDF, e.g., if running Ivy bot on four pairs, the full lot should be divided by four and each pair should be set to .25. Having four pairs running 1 full lot will cause your account to margin out if the Ivybot attempts to open two trades (one on each pair) simultaneously. Newbie traders don't know this ... their recommended lot size is dangerous. Ivybot needs good automatic money management coded internally.

3. The PDF file is outdated, filled with screenshots / examples of Ivybot 2.3 instead of the current version 4.9. PDF does not list many of the available settings nor the effect they have. Needs updated with an explanation of the functionality of each setting in detail. Very weak.

4. Recent backtesting of the Ivybot shows it begins loosing money on EURUSD in June 2009. I purchased the Ivybot as it is touted to be constantly updated to adapt to current market conditions. When is the next update due out?

5. The included Market Watch Indicator repaints more than the current candle, which means it lies to make it appear to be better than it really is. When a candle closes, the results need to stay the same. Looking at history is always perfect, like looking at MAs in history, they account for the past and future, so it's easy to predict when you know the future. It appears to be an ADX on default MT4 settings when compared side by side.

6. The recommended "scalper" take profit setting is 110 for EURUSD and 80 for USDJPY. This is way too high for a supposed "scalper" setting.

Their 4 digit / 5 digit excuse is the lamest thing I have ever heard. There is a built in "Digits" command you can use to detect the number of digits automatically (shown in MT4 programing help). Even a newbie like myself has updated my indicators to work on 4 or 5 digit brokers automatically.

Honestly, I expected a much more professional PDF / product from supposedly Ivy League graduates who are supposedly experienced traders. Their PDF looks like it was written by someone in Junior High with about a month of trading experiance, not Ivyleague grads. If my concerns are not addressed, I will be asking for a Clickbank refund. That said, here is a screenshot of the first trade Ivybot made for me. It made profit with very little drawdown, so I am not ready to jump on the "total junk" bandwagon yet ... but there were lots of pips left available on the USDJPY that I took live trades for 25 pips this morning (note the huge H1 candle).
